Tours + Group 'Winery Experiences'
Open daily, year round and located along the Niagara Wine Route, we invite you to
taste samples of our VQA wines and tour the production facilities at the Niagara
College Teaching Winery, housed within the Wine Visitor + Education Centre, Niagara-on-the-Lake
Campus.
Prices listed below are effective as of January 1, 2012
Public Tour
Daily – 2:00 pm
$5.00 plus HST per person
This guided tour will take you through our state-of-the-art facility and allow you
to learn about the history of Canada’s only commercial Teaching Winery, and go 'back
to school' to learn all about the processes of producing wine. Your tour will conclude
with a structured tasting of three VQA Niagara College Wines.

Sensory Lesson
$5.00 plus HST per person
Learn about Canada's only teaching winery, your knowledgeable guide will lead you
through a tasting and sensory lesson while you sample 3 VQA wines at our new Wine
Visitor + Education Centre Tasting Bar.
Enhance your experience with a chocolate
pairing for an additional $3.00 per person.

Teaching Winery Tour & Tasting
$10.00 plus HST per person
This is such a fun and well-rounded tour! This tour lasts
approximately 1 hour and will lead your group out to our vineyards
(weather permitting) to discuss our growing season, our terroir and the
Canadian wine industry as a whole. Next your group will journey into
our on-site wine making facilities where they will learn about the
process of making our award-winning wines. The tour is finished off
with the best part, a structured tasting of three VQA wines.
Not only are we an award winning winery but we are also the site of
future winemakers! Learn about our programs and our successful
graduates who have become amazing winemakers worldwide! We offer some
unique programs that not only teach theory but also teach using applied
learning. Our students are out in the vineyards pruning, tying and
picking the grapes then into the winery to produce their own wine. It
is an opportunity for you to join us and see what it would be like to be
a student for a day!

Journey of the Senses
$15.00 plus HST per person
This experience will commence in our teaching vineyards where we will
discuss our growing season, the Ontario wine industry, the Canadian wine
industry and how we grow premium grapes right here in Niagara! Next the
group will be accompanied to our wine making facilities where we will
discuss the process of making our award-winning wines as well as have a
structured tasting of two of our VQA wines!
Not only are we an award winning winery but we are also the site of
future winemakers! Learn about our programs and our successful
graduates who have become amazing winemakers worldwide! We offer some

Blind Wine Taste Challenge
$25.00 plus HST per person
Groups of all sizes will test their wine knowledge through an
interactive team-based challenge at Niagara College Teaching Winery.
Hidden amongst the 30 acres of teaching vineyards will be five tasting
stations, each of which will host one wine (varietal). Each team must
make their way through the vineyards to locate all five stations and
work as a team to decipher which wines they are tasting all the while
not letting other teams know of their progress.
Niagara College Teaching Winery’s team is composed of trained
professionals so no help will be offered to these teams, only amazing
wines. All bottles will be disguised and the only tool provided will be
a “cheat sheet” outlining numerous wine varietals and their most
common characteristics. Hilarious outbursts begin mixed with extreme
competition. Teams have been known to hide amongst the vines while
whispering trying to not let other teams know of their location. All
teams stand strong however there can be only one winning team of the
Blind Wine Tasting Challenge.

Journey of the Senses Team Challenge
$25.00 plus HST per person
Everyone loves a Scavenger Hunt! Now imagine being part of a scavenger
hunt with a twist - not knowing that you are involved in a scavenger
hunt until it is too late!
Upon arrival at Niagara College Wine Visitor + Education Centre the
group will be split into smaller groups. Each group will have a
different location to commence what they think will be their “tour of
our facilities”. Locations include: Wine Visitor + Education Centre
Retail Store, Teaching Vineyards, Brewery and the Brewery Retail Store.
Throughout the “tour” each team will be presented the same
information and clues via our NC team members. What our participating
teams won’t know is that at the finish of
their “tour” they will be given a pop quiz regarding their visit.
They must work together as a team to recount their visit to uncover the
clues and answers to the quiz. Let’s just see how well they paid
attention – the team with the most correct answers wins not only
bragging rights for the remainder of the day but also amazing NC gifts
for each member.
